tracking showed speed 314 km/h .. on a hot air balloon? :)

Also some interruptions and stopped logging in themiddle of flight ...

I have the same problem sometimes when tracking my boat. I think the problem is caused in a unproper GPS signal, so the system is unable to locate me exactly. So the system "jumps" between 2 positions in seconds and calculates a "Superspeed" for a moment.

 it's correct what you are suggesting, mostly it's related to a bad fix of the GPS receiver, have been experiencing this a lot with build-in A-GPS receivers.
